There was a sort of "Pray for America" demonstration I came across on my walk.

They had their own film crew. Once they started rolling, a man stood in the center and thanked the others for their participation. He then said that today, they would “march all the way to Legion Park” (about a 45 minute walk from their current location).

After some applause, it started raining, and the cameras shut off. People meandered and got back in their cars and drove away. The film crew hung out for a minute, and two other people walked down the street with their signs down. On my way back through, someone finally picked up the camera man, and drove off towards Legion Park.

I’m going to guess they were making some kind of documentary or motivational video, but facts are facts: they did not march toward the park.

What would Jesus think?

Usually people holding up signs saying “WWJD,” or “GOD IS LOVE/ NO GOD NO SALVATION,” or in extreme cases, “REPENT.” There will typically be some intertwining of patriotism and faith. A man will stand with a megaphone and condemn the lifestyles of whoever he disagrees with, etc.

I didn’t see any evidence of that. The signs I saw made no mention of “thou shalt not kill” or any particular current event. Conversely, nothing about God hating Muslims.

I see stuff like this every so often, so it may be motivated by recent events, but it may just be another scheduled rally.

If you really knew Jesus, he would be understanding and forgiving given the conditions outside. Not everyone is fit for a 45 minute walk in the rain. (I have experience as a kid) He knew that those people had good intentions.
